Luang Prabang has both natural and historical sites. Among the natural tourism sites,there are the Kuang Si Falls and Pak Ou Caves. Tourists may also ride elephants. At the end of the main street of Luang Prabang is a night market where stalls sell shirts,bracelets,tea - suitable souvenirs. The Haw Kham Royal Palace Museum and the Wat Xieng Thong temple are among the most well known historical sites. Along with the magnificent wats a significant part of the old town's appeal are the many French provincial style houses.
Day 1:LUANG PRABANG - BAN MOK CHUNG (-/-/-)
Starting point of the trek is 35 km north of Luang Prabang,in the Khmu-village of Ban Hat Kho off route 13. The trail passes through two Khmu-villages,whilst continuously gaining height. The first Hmong-village visited is Ban Tham Loum,the second Phon Pha Peung. You will learn more about Hmong-culture in the host villlage for the night:Ban Mok Chung.

Day 2:BAN MOK CHUNG - BAN HOUAY KOK - TREKKING (B/-/-)
Trekking further into the rugged and densely forested mountains west of the Nam ou valley,this day leads through remote and beautiful limestone scenery. Lunch is served in the Khmu-village of Ban Na Savang. Home-stay is in the village of Ban Houay Kok.

Day 3:BAN HOUAY KOK - BAN PAK CHAEK (B/-/-)
Trekking takes you to the waterfalls Tad Ngai and Tad Noi:an idyllic place for a relaxing lunch-break and for bathing. The trek nds on the banks of the Nam Ou River in the late afternoon,in the Khmu-village of Ban Pak Chaek

Day 4:BAN PAK CHAEK - NAM OU RIVER KAYAKING - LUANG PRABANG (B/-/-)
After breakfast,some basic paddle instructions and practice prepare for the final day of kayaking on the Nam Ou River.
The first stretch south of Ban Pak Chaek takes you through five fun rapids (grade 1 to 2,suitable for beginners). The Khmu-village of Ban Sibounhom is visited along the way. The afternoon is spent in calmer waters,as the villages become more numerous,a lot of vegetable gardens can be seen on the banks.
